Charlotte pans: C'est chouette!

In last night's Crème renversée au caramel, the recipe called for a 4-cup Charlotte mold, and I had NO idea what that was. I know, I know, how pitiful. Et moi, j'ai habité en France pendant neuf mois! Based on the shape of the custard illustrated in the book, I went with what I had, a 9" cake pan. Now, having done a quick google, I can see that the cake pan only made my life harder, and I want a charlotte mold...to be precise, I "crave" rather want. I crave a Charlotte mold. Maybe someone will get me one for Xmas???

This is the post that originally overwrote my preparation post. Through cut-and-paste cunning, it now shows up where it is was meant in the first place. Sigh.

Let's talk offline about how you're posting. I find it very difficult to over-post, so I'm doing something different from you.

We don't want to miss a word you write!

(I read your original post last night, and you recovered it quite well, by the way.)

I want one desperately.

Just came back to admire it for another moment. I really really must have one.

It is too sweet, I agree.

Looking at it again. Imagining it it my kitchen. Imagining all the lovely custards and charlottes I could make with it. My heart is going pitty pat a little faster.

Must have. Must have. Must have. Am going to leave a little note for the Cranky Old Geezer.

COG doesn't read all the comments in the HDB? Shame...

I agree that I must have one. Perhaps I will leave a note for NeverTed.
